MEET CHRIS WEIGEL
Meet Chris Weigel: NTMA Instructor & Industry Leader
Meet Chris Weigel, an instructor at the NTMA Apprentice School and a dedicated professional in the manufacturing industry. With 16 years of hands-on experience, Chris has worked his way up from sweeping floors to becoming a leader in the field. Today, he is an integral part of Innovative Machine & Manufacturing, a division of The McAlear Group, which has been an NTMA member for two years.
Chris’s journey into manufacturing started as a temporary job to help him through college, but it quickly became his passion. In 2008, he had the opportunity to help launch a new shop, an experience that solidified his career path. Over the years, he has developed his expertise in machining and manufacturing, earning multiple Mastercam certifications and gaining valuable industry knowledge.
A proud Western Lake Erie NTMA School alumnus, Chris received his journeyman certificate through the NTMA program. His education and real-world experience have equipped him with the skills necessary to train the next generation of machinists and manufacturers. As an instructor, he is committed to helping apprentices gain practical, industry-relevant education that benefits both them and their employers.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and three children—a daughter and twin boys. He is an avid fan of ultimate frisbee, disc golf, wakeboarding, and video games. His passion for continuous learning and innovation extends beyond the shop floor and into every aspect of his life.
Looking ahead, Chris sees the Western Lake Erie NTMA chapter playing a key role in shaping the future of manufacturing by providing high-quality, real-world training that prepares apprentices for long-term success.
